In all my years as a mortgage broker, I most vividly remember March 2020, when COVID-19 up-ended the entire lending ecosystem. One by one, I received emails from my go-to lenders announcing they were suspending their loan programs.
Instead of sinking, I kept my finger on the pulse as to which lenders were still active. I still had clients to help. Foreign nationals from Spain and Mexico who needed bridge loans to purchase condo units in Miami. Self-employed borrowers looking to purchase or refinance but could not show income through tax returns. Real estate investors who wanted to pull emergency cash from their office and mult-EYE family properties.
Fortunately, I was able to navigate my clients to the closing table. To everyone who was involved in each closed deal this year — my clients and the lenders, and everyone in between (the realtors, title companies, insurance agents, and my referral partners) — thank you so much for the opportunity and teamwork.
As 2021 approaches, I promise that I will continue to stay nimble and find creative loan solutions for any scenario. I look forward to working with you in the new year.
